Deepening the Stenheim Experience

The  Stenheim Alumine S10 subwoofer has been principally designed to complement the speaker models in Stenheim’s own Alumine range, although its development has ensured it works equally advantageously with speakers from other brands. Existing and potential owners of Stenheim’s smaller Alumine models, the Two and the Two.Five, will benefit from notably extended bass in their system with the addition of the S10, which will prove particularly effective in larger room applications.

While naturally adding lower bass response to any partnering speaker, the Stenheim Alumine S10’s greatest strength is its ability to articulate remarkable bass dynamics and texture, critical factors to a life-like listening experience. The bass performance of the subwoofer can be tailored to match an individual room’s characteristics, thanks to sophisticated on-board digital signal processing, which allows precise control over frequency, gain and phase. The S10 also extends its advantages to owners of Stenheim’s larger Alumine models, the Three and the Five, allowing them to enjoy enhanced bass performance as well as the ability to fine-tune their in-room sound experience, especially in larger rooms. 

The Alumine S10 adheres to Stenheim’s acclaimed design philosophy with an all-aluminium construction and ingenious internal chambering, which contains three distinct volumes. It also continues Stenheim’s track record of achieving truly surprising performance from modest external dimensions. This is thanks in no small part to the S10’s clever isobaric design, which maintains constant pressure between the two drivers to lower distortion levels and minimize overall size. The acoustic alignment design also ensures superior dynamics throughout the frequency range, giving fast attack and response, characteristics that typify the Stenheim sound and breathe life into the music.

The Alumine S10 is an active design featuring audiophile electronics that include a powerful, exceptionally controlled 1200W amplifier. Its multiple parameters are adjusted remotely via either an app installed on a smartphone or tablet, or via a dedicated web page. These applications communicate with the S10 over a wired Ethernet connection. It can thus benefit from future software upgrades to keep it current with evolving technologies. Multiple connection possibilities enable it to be integrated easily into a wide variety of audio systems, as well as making it eminently suitable for high-quality home cinema installations. It can also be daisy-chained to enable owners to connect more than one S10 to their system for the ultimate bass experience.

It is available in the standard colours of Light Grey or Dark Grey with black front and rear panels. Custom finishes in Full Black, Ivory, or Mocca are also available to perfectly match any existing Stenheim or other speaker system.
