About this policy
The Stenheim App is a free iOS and Android companion app for compatible Stenheim products, provided by STENHEIM Suisse SA ("Stenheim", "we" or "us"). This policy explains how information is handled when you use the app.
No account, server-side collection or tracking
No account is required. You do not need to provide Stenheim with your name, email address, telephone number, payment details or other personal information to set up or use the app and compatible Stenheim products.
Stenheim does not collect or store user data from the app on its servers. The app does not use analytics, advertising systems, or marketing or behavioural tracking tools. We do not sell or share personal data from the app.
Because we do not hold app user data on our servers, there are no such server-side records for us to retain or delete. Local processing and direct communication with your Stenheim product, described below, are not collection by Stenheim.
Local setup and product communication
During Wi-Fi setup, the app can send the Wi-Fi credentials you enter or select directly from your mobile device to your Stenheim product via Bluetooth. This enables the product to connect to your Wi-Fi network. Your Wi-Fi password is not sent to or collected by Stenheim servers.
The app and your Stenheim product exchange technical information in both directions as needed for discovery, setup, configuration, personalisation and control. This may include settings, status, playback information and commands. This information is used locally for the operation of the app and product and is not collected or stored on Stenheim servers.
Device permissions and access
Depending on your device and operating system, the app needs Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, local-network or nearby-device access to discover, set up and communicate with compatible Stenheim products.
On Android, the app may also check whether supported external applications, such as music-service apps, are installed, so that it can identify and open them from Stenheim Control.
These permissions and access are used only for app functionality, not for tracking, profiling, advertising or analytics. You can manage permissions that your operating system makes available in your device settings. Restricting necessary permissions may prevent some functions from working.
Third-party applications and online services
The app and Stenheim products may interact with third-party applications or services, including music streaming services, and display their content, such as track information and album artwork.
When your device or product communicates with a third-party website or online service, normal internet communication may disclose standard technical information, such as your IP address, directly to that provider. This is separate from collection by Stenheim.
Third-party providers have their own terms and privacy policies. Stenheim does not control their privacy practices or personal data they process independently. Please review their policies when using their services.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or applicable requirements change. We will publish the revised policy with an updated date and provide any additional notice required by law.
